Welcome back to the blues Mick Fleetwood its been a long time coming but well worth the wait, This album "Blue Again!" Blue Again! (Plus Bonus Disc)is very evocative of the early blues of Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac and is a must for all fans of their early albums. Mick has lost none of his magic and with his current band brings the memories flooding back. Long may he continue and please lets have more of "Mick Fleetwood Blues Band" Brilliant!!!!
Worth it just for track 22 - Phil Spector's original recording of Spanish Harlem. Buy it for this and get the rest as a bonus.
Queen are the most overrated band ever. This collection does contain the odd decent song but most songs here are trivial, soul-less, hollow and very very empty. The world's most pointless band!
Buy it,Buy it,Buy it.
For yourself, for anyone of any age.You wont be disapointed.Josh,s recordings are simply wonderful.
I agree with Kevan - this is just the first of three box sets, apparently and very fine it is too. It's a bit frustrating knowing that there are 15 CDs worth of programmes out there and only 9 will get an official release. The sound quality is great and has obviously been cleaned up from the original acetates - unfortunately, most of the chat from the shows has been taken out and that's the big loss, for me with this set, because it provides a fascinating insight into the band dynamic of the Driftin' Cowboys.
I'd give it more than 5 out of 5 too, but for the missing bits there'll still be people trawling the dark recesses of the internet...!
After the impenetrable 'St. Anger', this is something of a return to form. OK - it's back to the mainstream, but that's what most Metallica fans want. This album delivers in spades and all the songs clock in at between 5 and 8 minutes. It's classy, atmospheric, ballsy rock - the songs are good, the playing's tight, Hetfield's in fine voice, and all is well with the Metallica world. Recommended!
I am so excited about this album!!!!! I heard some of the songs on myspace and is sounds AMAZING!! The new tracks sound sooo good! I love the single! You have to buy this album, it will blow you away!
I'll keep it brief, if you appreciate the beauty of the early Genesis back catalogue, Then this boxset is an absolute must. The detail and accuracy of the surround mixes on the SACD is just overwhelming, hearing things that appear to have been lost in the mix previously, the feeling of being surrounded by 5 Tony Banks at the beginning of Carpet Crawlers was just heart rendering, the visuals are immense and the liner notes are an interesting read (Clarkson's in particular). If you haven't already, spend that cash cash cash and invest in this years must have product!
At first I was skeptical of the whole Johnny Cash is a great musician/songwriter, and thought it was oldie country music for the oldies to reminisce about, and say how they never make music like they used to; that was until I was given this CD to try after seeing the film based upon his life.
Johnny Cash is without doubt a very clever songwriter/commentator with catchy 2-3min songs that reveal a story with very poignant and/or witty poetry set to music you'll hum along to after very few listens. Clear examples of this can be found in songs such as 'A boy named Sue' and 'San Quentin.'
This album captures the highlights of his music career from the early songs right to the covers of modern artists - which he covers in his 'Cash sound' that I feel are better than the originals.
If you are undecided, like I was, give it a try as you can always sell it on, but I am sure, you will not be disappointed.
